Meet Christine Zahler, CPNP
Christine Zahler, CPNP, has dedicated more than two decades to caring for children and families.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Christine earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University and began her career at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she spent six years as a pediatric registered nurse caring for children with cancer, blood disorders, and complex medical conditions. She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing and became a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2008.
After beginning her career as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in New York City, Christine returned to Long Island and spent nearly 12 years caring for children and families at Port Pediatrics in Port Washington. During those years, she developed lasting relationships with generations of local families and became deeply connected to the community she also calls home.
When Port Pediatrics closed, Christine continued practicing locally, but she quickly realized how much she missed caring for children in her own community—and how much she wanted to return to the families she had known and cared for over so many years.
From that realization, Port Care Pediatrics was born.
Opening her own pediatric practice in Port Washington felt like coming home. With the unwavering support of her late mother, her husband, and her three children, Christine turned a longtime dream into a reality: a pediatric practice centered on personal relationships, thoughtful medicine, and the kind of care she would want for her own family.
Christine is grateful to once again care for the children of Port Washington and the surrounding communities—and especially honored to continue caring for families who have trusted her with their children over the years.
When Christine is not caring for patients, you will likely find her in the kitchen cooking for family and friends—or at a nearby court or field, proudly cheering on her three children.
